The New York State Capitol building offers guided tours Monday through Saturday, giving visitors a chance to learn about the building's rich history and see the chambers and other key sites firsthand. The Capitol has five stories with a full basement and attic, and was built with walls over sixteen feet thick. Visitors can explore the Assembly Chamber, the single largest room in the building and see the beautiful clear and stained glass windows, vaulted ceilings and the dais or rostrum where the Assembly Speaker stands.
