The Albany Tulip Festival runs for three days at the beginning of May each year and is one of the most highly anticipated spring traditions in the state of New York. Over 200,000 tulip bulbs blossom in celebration of Mother's Day and the spring season in Washington Park. The annual event includes the scrubbing on State Street, the Tulip Queen Coronation, the Tulip Queen and Court Luncheon, and the Royal Tulip Ball. The event also includes children's activities, musical performances, craft vendors and the Tulip Ball. This event is free and open to the public.
